Meet Dorothy Varner – ECC’s Environmental Educator
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to share these magical preserves in our collective Saugerties backyard with our youth! With a background in outdoor experiential/environmental education, and service learning, I bring almost two decades of passion and commitment to sharing my knowledge and awe of nature with young people. From close encounters with majestic polar bears in the Canadian arctic and steamy hikes through the Costa Rican rainforest to investigating the incredible potential of a tiny acorn becoming a mighty oak tree, I believe that wild places are the best classrooms of all.”
